Obituary for August Maniez
August Maniez, Jr., 73, passed away peacefully at his residence in Macon, GA on Thursday, January 13, 2022. Funeral Services will be held later in Michigan.
Mr. Maniez was born on December 9, 1948, in Wayne, Michigan to August Maniez, Sr and Marie Schultz Maniez, but grew up in Hartland Township on Lake Tyrone. He proudly served our country in the United States Army National Guard. He was a proud graduate of Michigan State University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree. Mr. Maniez was employed as an Engineer for the majority of life, working the United State Federal Government in several different states and finally retiring from Savanah River Site as a Safety Engineer with the Department of Energy.
In his free time, he loved to go to local baseball games, to cook, fish, and deer hunt. Mr. Maniez enjoyed watching his alma mater Michigan State University play basketball and football, and he cheered on the Georgia Bulldogs along with his daughter. Above everything, he was a family man, always making sure they had whatever they needed. He was a devoted son, husband, father, brother, uncle, and finally grandfather.
Mr. Maniez was preceded in death by his father.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving family. His wife of 45 years, Carmen Maniez. Daughter, Noelle Maniez White, granddaughter, Nona Elise White. Mother, Marie Schultz Maniez. Siblings, Robert Pierre Maniez (Karen) and Sandra Maniez Sustic (Ken).
