Clay Isaac Moncrief, 94, of Macon, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Thursday, January 13, 2022. The family will have a time of visitation on Friday, January 14, 2022 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at FairHaven Funeral Home. Funeral Services to honor his life will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of FairHaven Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Dotson officiating. Immediately following the service, Mr. Moncrief will be laid to rest in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Moncrief was born on March 1, 1927 in Crawford, County, Georgia to the late Isaac and Georgia Moncrief. At a young age, he married the love of his life Ellen, and together they built a wonderful legacy that included a marriage that lasted over 71 years. Mr. Moncrief loved his precious wife dearly and she was the apple of his eye and best friend. He retired from Robins Air Force after a 33 year career as an inspector. He was a true outdoorsman, and loved camping, hunting, fishing, gardening and tractors. Mr. Moncrief was a faithful member of Porterfield Baptist Church where he was active in the Sunday School Class.
Mr. Moncrief was preceded in death by his parents as well as his son, Gary Moncrief and four siblings; Edd, James, Clifford, and Mary.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving family. His wife; Ellen Wragg Moncrief. Sons; Kirby Moncrief and Andy Moncrief. 5 grandchildren; Clay Moncrief (Sunshine), Keely Ikner (TJ), Sara Barrett (Allen), Kay Moncrief and Craig Moncrief (Amber). 6 great grandchildren and two siblings, Angus and Margie. Sister in law: Kay Renfroe(Hillory).
