Obituary for Danny Wayne Delk

Danny Wayne Delk, age 70, of Knoxville, Georgia passed away on December 27, 2022 at Pine Point Hospice in Macon, Georgia after a short battle with cancer. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Renfroe Valley Tree Farm, located at 1653 Airline Road, McDonough, GA 30252 with refreshments and fellowship to follow.

Danny grew up in Columbus, Mississippi, but eventually moved to Georgia, and subsequently converted to a Georgia Bulldogs fan. Known for his biting wit, Danny was a talented woodworker, an avid hunter, and was affectionately known as “Dan Dan” to his grandchildren, Henry, Emmy, Huntley, Cooper, and Graham. However, he would tell you that most importantly of all, he was saved by grace through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Don and Sue Delk and his brother, Larry (Debby) Delk. He is survived by his children, Brett (Megan) Delk, South Hill, VA; Dana (Mike) Butler, Pike Road, AL; his brother, Bill (Pat) Delk, Columbus, MS; his sister Donna (Scott) Renfroe, McDonough, GA; the mother of his children, Lynn Lancaster; his other “was wife,” Kim Hawkins Delk, Leah (Matt) Siegel; a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Charlie Renfroe, Bill Delk, Jr., Scott Renfroe, Bubba Randall, Keith Thomas, and Dr. Matt Siegel. The family extends a special thanks to Dr. Siegel, who provided immense knowledge and expertise during this difficult time.
