David Wayne Long of Gray, Georgia went to be with The Lord on Thursday, May 12, 2022. The family will have a memorial service on Saturday, June 4th at 3:00 P.M. with a visitation one hour prior to service at Christ Community Church

Mr. Long was born March 12, 1952 in Raleigh, North Carolina to the late Wesley Franklin Long and the late Lucile Scott Long. He grew up in Macon, Georgia and moved to Jones County, Georgia after he married. He retired from Triumph in Milledgeville, Georgia and spent much of his adult life as a bi-vocational pastor. He served at several churches in the Middle Georgia area.
He loved The Lord, his Bible, his wife and kids, his church family, and hiking the North Georgia mountains in his younger years while still enjoying the mountain beauty in his later years. Mr. Long is survived by his loving wife of 51 years: Sheila Simmons Long, children: Nathan Eric Long (Stephanie) and Amanda Grace Long, sister: Patricia Ann Long, brother: Wesley Donald Long (Gayla), nieces: Sara Long and Ava Long, nephew: Brayden Long, and two fur babies: Lucy and Ethel.
