Obituary for David Mark Robinson “Big Daddy"

David Mark Robinson “Big Daddy,” 62, peacefully passed away surrounded by his family on Wednesday, August 24, 2022. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, August 27, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of FairHaven Funeral Home, with Pastor, Ronnie Hollis officiating. The family will greet friends from 12:00 pm until service time.

Big Daddy was born on June 25, 1960, in Macon, Georgia, to the late Mr. Robert Russell Robinson and Mrs. Elizabeth Pritchard Robinson. He was employed with First Quality for the last 40 years, where he worked in maintenance. Big Daddy may have given the impression that he was a tough, stubborn man, but underneath he was a giant teddy bear with a heart of gold. He smiled big, he loved big, and his hugs always felt like home. Big Daddy spent his free time “huntin,” fishin,” “shrimpin,” and hanging out with his friends. His family was his life, especially his grandchildren; there was nothing he would not do for any them and no one better, ever, utter a cross word about them. There will be a giant void in the lives of all that knew and loved Big Daddy.

Big Daddy was preceded in death by his brothers, Billy Russell Robinson, Frank Covell Robinson, and Jeffery Keith Robinson.

Left to cherish Big Daddy’s memory is his loving wife of 45 years, Lisa Robinson; children, Melissa Wilson (Jason), Katie Bean (Shawn), Abbey Robinson, and Mark Robinson, Jr.; grandchildren, Kailey Carden (Jacob), Lindsey Wilson, Ava Bean, Riley Bean, Raelyn Patton, and Josie Robinson; siblings, Robert Alan Robinson, Robin Robinson Price (Terry), and Richard Stephen Robinson; many nieces and nephews; a host of friends; and step “youngins” that would “step over and stay a while.”

The family may be contacted at the residence of Jason and Melissa Wilson.
