Boots was born on August 19, 1953 in Macon to the late Eudoxus Daniel Davis and Willie Mae Tabor Davis. He graduated from Central High School and went to work as a heavy equipment operator, working for the Macon Water Authority for 17 years and later retiring from the Georgia Department of Transportation. On March 21, 1981, he married the love of his life Earline, and together they made a wonderful life, raising 3 children. His world revolved around his family, when his kids were growing up, he never missed any activity they were involved in. Weather it was coaching softball, or marching band events, he was always their when he needed them. Boots never met a stranger and was the neighborhood dad to anyone he met. He worked hard his entire life to make sure they were always taken care of. Later in life he took on the role of Pop Pop, his grandkids were the light of his life, he was by far his happiest when he was spending time with them. He carried on the tradition of never missing a activity and regularly attended gymnastic events, and softball games to show support for his girls. In his free time, he loved to watch the Georgia Bulldogs and Atlanta Braves. Boots was a simple man, with simple pleasures whom will be missed dearly.
Left to cherish his memory and carry on his legacy is his loving family. His wife; Earline Powell Davis. Children; Shannon Davis (Tiffany), Summer Davis, and Jessica Davis Gilstrap (Shannon). Granddaughters; Makayla Archibald, McKalee Gilstrap, Kyndal Gilstrap, and Finley Gilstrap. Siblings; Dan Davis (Betty Ann) and Sandra Gardener (Jimmy).
