Obituary for Elizabeth Ann Brown (Burnley)

Elizabeth Ann Burnley Brown, 93, of Macon, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 26, 2023. Graveside services to celebrate her life will be held on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens Mausoleum . Pastor Ed Chambless will officiate.

Mrs. Brown was born on May 16, 1929 in Swainsboro, Georgia to the late Marshall Burnley and Bertha Mae Lawrence Jenkins. She worked the majority of her life as a homemaker, making a wonderful life for her family. Mrs. Brown was formerly a founding member of Bloomfield United Methodist Church but was recently a very active member of Mikado Baptist Church. She loved her church family dearly. In her free time, Mrs. Brown liked to volunteer at the Methodist Childrens Home, something she did for over 20 plus years. She also loved to cook and was involved with her church group who made cook books. Above everything, she loved her family dearly.

Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband of 60 plus years, Harvey Alphonso Brown, Jr.; son, Harvey Alphonso Brown, III; and siblings, Robert Burnley, Judy Lane, and Lutrell Baker.
Mrs. Brown is survived by her children, Michael Stephen Brown (Twila), Janice Brown Tomlinson (Jim), Darla Brown Spooner, Pamela Brown Gorman (David); 10 grandchildren; numerous, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and siblings, Louise McCoy (Huey), Jerry Jenkins (Nell), and Phillip Jenkins.

The family will graciously accept flowers, but if the donor feels led, donations can be made in Mrs. Brown’s honor to: The Methodist Children’s Home, 304 Pierce Ave, Macon, GA 31204.
