Fred Ponder Poe, 89, of Macon, passed away on February 7th, 2023. A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, February 17th, 2023, at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of FairHaven Funeral Home. Immediately following, Mr. Poe will be laid to rest in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will have a time of visitation one hour prior to service time.

Mr. Poe was born on September 6, 1933, in Newport, Tennessee, to the late Mr. William M. Poe and Mrs. Jessie Mae Vest Poe. He retired after a lengthy career with the United States Army, Fort Irwin Branch, where he worked as an Accountant. He spent his years enjoying camping and fishing with his wife and grandchildren; family trips to Tennessee, Oklahoma and Georgia. He and Betty settled their roots here in Macon, GA, where he remained until the end of his days here on earth.

Mr. Poe was preceded in death by his two sons, Paul Bradly Poe and Mark Christopher Poe, as well as his 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

Mr. Poe is survived by his wife of 31 years, Betty June Ashworth Poe; son Michael Steven Poe & wife Jeanette Poe; Tammie Michelle Bostain Meadows; LaDona Lee Bostain Astye; his 7 Grandchildren; 13 Great Grandchildren; and church family.
