Obituary for Glenn Clyde Shepard

Glenn Clyde Shepard, 80, of Macon, passed away on Saturday, May 15, 2021. A celebration of Mr. Shepard’s life will be held on Monday, May 24, at 11:00 AM in the chapel of FairHaven Funeral Home with Reverend Jim Duggan and Reverend Doctor Robert Woodall officiating. Mr. Shepard will be laid to rest following the service at 2:30 PM in the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville, Georgia.

Mr. Shepard was born on June 21, 1940, to the late Julian Carson Shepard and Mozelle Healan Shepard. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. After basic training, Mr. Shepard attended the Amarillo Technical Training Center. He was then assigned to the 363rd Tactical Reconnaissance Wing. During his military career, he was stationed at Shaw Air Force Base in Sumter, South Carolina, as well as Udon, Thailand, and Phan Rang Air Force Base in Vietnam. Mr. Shepard worked with R. A. Siegal Company for 22 years as Internal Operations Manager. He was a founding member of Bloomfield Little League, where he served in several roles during his years of involvement. Mr. Shepard loved to travel, especially to Hawaii where he would visit Diamond Head and Pearl Harbor. He liked taking daily walks with his wife and playing solitaire on his computer. Mr. Shepard was an avid fan of the University of Georgia. He was a family man, always lending a helping hand on whatever project they had going on. Mr. Shepard’s greatest joy came from being a husband, daddy, and grandpa.

Mr. Shepard was preceded in death by his brothers, Ray Shepard, Terry Shepard, and Frankie Shepard; son-in-law, Curtis Landrum; and sister-in-law, Susie Shepard.

Mr. Shepard is survived by his wife of 57 years, Elizabeth Warnock Shepard; son, Jeff Shepard; daughters, Kim Landrum and Juli Embry (Nathan); daughter-in-law, Mary Shepard; grandchildren, Danielle Shepard, Joshua Landrum, Katelyn Landrum, Makayla Landrum, and Jordyn Landrum; sisters-in-law, Elaine Shepard Hennessey and Linda Shepard; Aunt, Joy McDaniel (Clay) and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Because of his love of animals, the family graciously requests donations be made in Mr. Shepard’s honor to, Circle of Friends Animal Society, c/o Greenwood Farm Veterinary Clinic, 5996 Forsyth Rd. Macon, GA. 31210, or to the donor’s favorite charity.
