Obituary for Gloria Jean Durden (Robinson)

Gloria Jean Robinson Durden, 70, of Byron, passed away on Saturday, September 11, 2021. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 16, at 2:00 PM in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Durden was born on December 2, 1950, in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, to the late J.D. Robinson and Violet McHenry Robinson. She was retired from the City of Macon, where she worked as finance manager. Mrs. Durden was a member of Seventh Day Adventist Church on Wimbish Road. Her church was very important to her; she enjoyed decorating the church for different occasions. Mrs. Durden liked to travel, especially to the beach. She loved her family; being a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, was her greatest joy.

Mrs. Durden is survived by her husband of 52 years, William Henry Durden; daughter, Melissa Kay Barnwell (William); grandchildren, Rebecca Brown (Matt) and Warren Chase Coppock; great-grandchildren, Shayna, Summer, Braylen, and Skylar; sisters, Brenda Wilkinson (Ronnie), Janice Sternik, and Margaret Ramos (Nick); brothers, Terry Robinson (Carol) and Earl Robinson (Judy); and several nieces and nephews.
