Obituary for Grady Lorel "Buddy" Stanfield Jr.

Grady Lorel “Buddy” Stanfield, Jr., 45, of Macon, passed away on Sunday, June 27, 2021. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 1, at 11:00 AM in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. The family will have a time of visitation on Wednesday, June 30, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at FairHaven Funeral Home. Following the graveside service, there will be a family gathering at the residence of Victor and Michelle Stevenson.

Buddy was born on May 14, 1976, in Warner Robins, Georgia. He was a member of the Georgia Special Olympics Equestrian Team. Buddy was also involved in Kuwanis Club and the Junior Deputies of the Jones County Sheriff’s Department. He loved riding horses, on trains, and in trucks. He spent much of his free time eating cheeseburgers from McDonalds, watching University of Alabama Football, and bowling.

Buddy was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Mr. Robert T. Canady, Sr. and Mrs. Zadie Mae Canady, and paternal grandparents, Mr. Grady Norwood Stanfield and Mrs. Bretha Stanfield.

Left to cherish Buddy’s memory is his parents, Grady Lorel Stanfield, Sr., and Emily Sue Canady Stanfield; brother, Matthew Thomas Stanfield (Adrienne); and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, the family graciously requests donations be made to Mr. and Mrs. Stanfield to help with Buddy’s funeral expenses or to Brave Meadows Therapeutic Riding Center: 1094 Eatonton Hwy, Gray, GA 31032.
