Obituary for Henry Bunnie Griffin

Henry Bunnie Griffin, 65, of Macon, Georgia passed away unexpectedly after a lengthy illness on Wednesday, February 21, 2024. The family invites friends to join them for a time of visitation on Saturday, February 24, 2024, from 4pm – 6pm at Fairhaven Funeral Home.

Bunnie was born on January 5, 1959 in Louisburg, North Carolina to the late Elton Drake Griffin and Lois Hagwood Griffin. He was a devoted painter that took pride in each job that he completed. Beyond his painting talent, he found joy in the simple things of life - from spirited games of Pinochle to cheering on his beloved Georgia Bulldogs, Atlanta Falcons, and Atlanta Braves. His garage was his safe haven where he savored the fresh air and cherished moments with family and friends. Proudly known as "Coach Bunnie," he leaves behind a legacy of nurturing and guiding hundreds of young souls through the joys of sports. Bunnie married Lisa Bishop and together they built a life they loved. Watching his grandchildren play ball brought him immeasurable happiness, a testament to his selfless and loving nature. With an infectious smile, he embraced everyone as a friend, leaving an indelible mark of kindness wherever he went. Above all, his family was the light of his life. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, Bunnie is preceded in death by his brother, Charlie Drake Griffin and sister, Paula Jo Hensley.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 39 years, Lisa Bishop Griffin; sons, Wesley Drake Griffin (Lexi); Zachary Ralph Griffin (Abigail); daughter, Morgan Griffin Beeman (Matthew); sister, Anne Griffin Harrington (Gary); grandchildren, Sawyer Griffin, Madelyn Griffin, Lucas Beeman, Spencer Beeman; and a host of nieces and nephews.
