Obituary for Jeanne Dodd Lowery

Jeanne D. Lowery, 79, of Byron, passed away on January 14, 2021. Services to celebrate her life will be held Saturday, April 24, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in Byron United Methodist Church with a visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. in the church.
Jeanne was born in Alto, Georgia on February 26, 1941 to the late Pledger and Floyd Dodd. Jeanne began singing solos at church at the age of 3 and loved music, never missing an opportunity to sing. She graduated from interior design school in Vienna, Virginia and carried that passion with her throughout her life. She used her talents in interior design to make her home a showplace. As a true southern lady, she opened her heart and home to everyone, and greeted them with a great big hug. Throughout her life, Jeanne and her husband called several different places home, including, Winston Salem, North Carolina, Vienna, Virginia, Cornelia, Albany, and Byron, Georgia, but every place they lived, was not just a house, it was her home. Together, Jeanne and Lewis raised their son Jimmy, who gave them two precious grandchildren. They were the light of her life, and affectionately called her Mom-Mommie. Her sweet spirit will be greatly missed.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her son, who passed just one day after her; Jimmy Lowery. Infant son; Patrick Dodd Lowery, brother, Wesley A. Dodd. In laws; Fred and Lorene Lowery and grandparents; Wash and Emma Nicholson.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 63 years; Lewis Lowery. Daughter in law; Cheryl Lowery. Grandson Trey Lowery and his wife Shea. Granddaughter; Lauren Lowery, nephew, Wes Dodd and special cousin; Peggy Forester.
