Joe Little Ross went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 29, 2022. Family members will be available on Monday, January 2 at the Midway Baptist Church cemetery from 10:00 to 11:00 am for his burial. There will not be a service, only a time of prayer and remembrance.
Mr. Joe Ross, the son of the late William Eli Ross and Elizabeth Corinne Little Ross, was born on April 26, 1928, in Bibb County, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his wife, Johnsie Mae (McCallum) Ross, his brother Bill Ross, and his sisters Elizabeth Elkins, Ophelia Parks, and June Cannon. He had been a member of Midway Baptist Church and served there faithfully as a deacon throughout his sons’ childhood and teenage years. He worked in aircraft maintenance at Robbins Air Force Base in Warner Robins, GA where he retired. He was a loving father and a devoted husband. Mr. Ross is survived by his sons, Gary Buffkin, Terry Ross (Danielle), and James Ross (Dawn); grandchildren, Shayne Roe, James Nathaniel Ross, C.J. Ross, and Sierra Ross; great-grandchild, Leigha Smith; great-great-grandchildren, Kaleb Patat and Kody Smith; and many nieces and nephews.
