Obituary for John R Barton Sr.
John Rudolph Barton, Sr., 75, of Juliette, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 8, 2023. The family will have a time of visitation to greet friends on Thursday, April 13, 2023, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at FairHaven Funeral Home. Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel. Immediately following Mr. Barton will be laid to rest in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Reverend Ted Tedder will officiate.
Mr. Barton was born on August 22, 1947, in Colquitt County, Georgia to the late James C. Barton and Bessie Taylor Barton. He proudly served in the United Stated Navy for roughly ten years before being medically retired. Mr. Barton was an extremely smart man with a great interest in all things engineering, especially propulsion systems, NASA, and rockets. He would mockup ideas and use drawings to design different rockets. Above everything, he loved his family, especially his grandson.
Mr. Barton was preceded in death by his parents as well as his siblings, Joe Barton, and Betty Stephens.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving family. His wife of over 60 years; Barbara J. Barton. Son; John Lee Barton. Grandson; Atticus Ender Barton. Brother; J.C. Barton, Sister-in-laws; Ann Tedder (Fred), Liz Ogletree, and Debra Freeman as well as brother-in-laws; Luther Register (Brenda) and Roscoe Register (Jackie).
