Obituary

John Wendell Crook, Sr. went to be with the Lord and Savior on February 21, 2021. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
Wendell was born in Dooly Co, Georgia on May 23, 1938. His parents were John Wesley and Frances Avery Crook.
Wendell served three years in the United States Army and was stationed in Thule, Greenland. After his time in the service, he worked at the Naval Ordnance Plant for several years, the Macon Telegraph for fifteen years and retired from Bibb County School Systems after thirty years. He was currently retired from Houston County School System. He owned his own landscaping business for twenty -five years. He attended Bethel Baptist Church
Wendell loved working all his life and he had a big heart for special education children during the time he drove school buses.
Country music and dancing were his favorite pastimes. He always loved vacationing every year in the mountains.
He was preceded in death by his son, Dell Crook and his daughter, April Crook.
Survivors include his daughter; Amanda Faircloth and her husband, David Faircloth. Two grandchildren; Hunter Faircloth and Madisyn Faircloth. Brother, Jimmy Crook, and sister, Natalie Crook.

We remember Wendell from Christian Singles Fellowship Group of Macon. He was a fun caring person. We will greatly miss him. David Byrd and Deb Pero

There were certainly some good times we children had on Columbus Road and at Union Elementary. My deepest sympathies to you all on the loss of Wendell, the Crook family is there among my treasured memories. God bless and be with you all. Carla Asbell Dennis

Amanda, So sorry to hear about Wendell. We have been friends for many years as he was my bus driver when I was in high school with your Aunt Vickie. He has been a close friend also thru the singles group and will be missed. Nancy Young Harmon
