Obituary for John Milam "J.M." Embry

John Milam “J.M.” Embry, 83, of Macon, passed away on Monday, January, 18, 2021. Funeral services will be private.

J.M. was born on June 11, 1937, in Crossett, Arkansas, to the late Jarvis Miriam Embry and Helen Knight Embry. He graduated from Central High School, where he played trumpet in the high school band. J.M. proudly served his country in the United States National Guard. He attended Georgia Institute of Technology and later transferred to Southern College of Technology, where he graduated with an Associate Degree. J.M. was employed with the family business, Macon Custom Signs for 40 plus years. A man of strong faith, he faithfully served his Lord and Savior through his membership at North Macon Church of Christ, where he served as an Elder. J.M. was loved by everyone that knew him.

J.M. was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Linda Humphrey Embry and brother, Mark Embry.

J.M. is survived by his daughter, Jenifer NeSmith (Jeff) of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; son, Nathan Embry (Juli) of Juliette, Georgia; brother, Ray Embry (JoAnne) of North Charleston, South Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.
