Obituary for John Steven "Steve" Plunkett

John Steven “Steve” Plunkett, 63, of Byron, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 19, 2021. A graveside service to celebrate Steve’s life will be held on Friday, April 23, at 2:30 PM at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Prior to the service, the family will greet friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at FairHaven Funeral Home.

Steve was born on November 14, 1957, in Macon, Georgia. He was an employee with General Steel for 20 years, where he worked as warehouse manager. Steve loved his Harley Davidson motorcycle, Dale Earnhardt, and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. He spent much of his free time listening to rock music and playing the drums. Steve was a wonderful husband, father, and paw-paw.

Steve was preceded in death by his mother, Nell Hill Plunkett; mother-in-law, Sue C. Davis; and sister-in-law, Kathy Carper.

Steve is survived by his wife of 40 years, Sandra Franklin Plunkett; daughter, Shelley Baggett-Black (Henry); grandchildren, Kali Baggett, Kaden Black, and Noah Black (Bella); great-granddaughter, Luna Marie Black; father, John Plunkett, sister, Melanie Skipper; brother-in-law, Dale Carper; and numerous nieces and nephews.
