Obituary for Laura Ann Ballard Ward

Laura Ann Ballard Ward, 80, passed away peacefully at Pine Pointe Hospice on Monday, April 18, 2022. The family will have a time of visitation to greet friends on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at FairHaven Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. in FairHaven Funeral Home. Immediately following the service, she will be laid to rest in Evergreen Cemetery with Reverend Doug Newberry officiating.
Mrs. Ward was born on April 1, 1942, in Macon to the late Asa Ballard and Velma Crews. She faithfully worked at Robins Air Force Base as an aircraft structural engineer for over 38 years before her retirement. In her free time, Mrs. Ward loved to watch Charles Stanley on T.V. and spend time with her dog Bella. Above everything, Mrs. Ward was a loving mother and grandmother, she was by far her happiest when she was with them.
Mrs. Ward was preceded in death by her loving husband of over 60 years, Vernon Ward, Sr. Her son; Vernon Ward, Jr. Granddaughter; April Bryant, and siblings; Laudie Ballard, and Faith Newberry as well as her sister-in-law; Cindy Ballard
Left to cherish her memory is her loving family; her daughters; Kathy Wilder (Thomas) and Kimberly Bryant (Raymond). Grandchildren; Joann Wilder Neal (Michael), Thomas Wilder, Jr. (Chasity), Dana Newberry (Scott), Dusty Peavy (Kelli), Misty Ward and Kenny Ward. 13 great grandchildren and two siblings; Richard Ballard, Mitch Brown (Yvonne) and sister-in-law; Mary Jane Ballard along with a host of extended family.
