Obituary for Leroy Lewis
Leroy “Roy” Benjamin Lewis, 88, of Macon, Georgia passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 10, 2023. Funeral Services will be held Monday, May 15, 2023 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Fairhaven Funeral Home. The family will accept friends from 1:00pm to 2:00pm for a time of visitation. Immediately following, Mr. Lewis will be laid to rest at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. Pastor Ronnie Hollis, Jr will officiate.
Mr. Lewis was born in Vienna, Georgia to the late Mr. Thomas Franklin Lewis and Mrs. Nora Holton Lewis. Roy and his wife were members of Bloomfield United Methodist Church where he enjoyed spending time with the Men’s Group. He proudly served his country in the United States Army where he was stationed in Germany for one year. After 50 loyal years at Huckabee Auto Company, Roy retired his role as the Parts Manager. In his free time, he enjoyed eating ice cream, fishing, working around the yard and dancing with his wife, Bobbie. He was a member of the Y-Squares dancing group. Roy was a true joy to be around. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Roy is preceded in death by his loving wife, Bobbie Jean Lewis; daughter, Vickie Morris; siblings, Matthew Lewis, Jewel Miller, Curtis Lewis, Agnes Slayton, Calvin Lewis, Madeline Adkins, Doris Miller, Mary Nations, Virgil Lewis.
Left to cherish his memory is his son-in-law, Herbie Morris; grandchildren, Devin Morris, Damien Morris (Maegan), great grandchild, Harrison Morris and a host of nieces and nephews.
