Obituary for Louise Tomberlin Aldridge

Louise Tomberlin Aldridge, age 88, of Macon, Georgia passed away on Friday, November 4, 2022. The family will have a time of visitation on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at FairHaven Funeral Home. Funeral Services will begin at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel Reverend Morgan Kerr will officiate. Burial will immediately follow in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.

Louise was born in Thomaston, Georgia on Monday, July 16, 1934, to the late John Thomas Tomberlin and Bessie Castleberry Tomberlin. She worked in Human Resources for Sears Credit Central and GE Capital. Louise will always be known for having a great sense of humor and her laughter would put smile on everyone she met. Throughout her career with Sears and GE she assisted in hiring hundreds of people into the workforce. She was married to her husband on February 28, 1953, and when her husband was in the military she traveled to Japan and lived in many places in the U.S.A and abroad. She loved the beach and was particularly fond of traveling to Florida where she could relax and put, her feet in the sand. She really enjoyed traveling with her brother and sister-in-law, Johnny and Carolyn Tomberlin. Louise was a peacemaker and always saw the good in people. She was a great listener and was very compassionate for “the underdogs” in the world. Louise and her husband were members of Pine Forest Baptist Church. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
She was preceded in death by her parents and grandson, David Aldridge.

Louise is survived by her loving husband of almost 70 years, Retired United States Air Force S.M. Sgt. Hobert Aldridge, Jr; sons, Ted Aldridge (Beverly), Retired Army Major Craig Aldridge, Scott Aldridge (Susan); brother, John Tomberlin (Carolyn); sister, Frances Wilder; grandchildren, Tyler Aldridge (Katie), Jodie Brooks, Justin Aldridge, Christopher Aldridge; and great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Aldridge, Lilly Aldridge, Addison Brooks.
