Mae McGee Chancey, 103, of Macon, passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2021. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 18, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Grace Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Daniel Bryant officiating. Immediately following the service, Mrs. Chancey will be laid to rest in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service in the church. Face coverings will be required and social distancing is appreciated.
Mrs. Chancey was born in Macon, on July 30, 1917 to the late James B. and Sarah Francis McGee. She graduated from nursing school in 1941 and worked most of her life as a private duty registered nurse and retired from Middle Georgia Hospital. She was a member of Grace Primitive Baptist Church.
Mrs. Chancey was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Hubert “Coburn” Chancey, and a granddaughter; Christy Chancey.
Left to cherish her memory are her children; Leonard Coburn Chancey (Kathy), and Kathy Geeslin (David). Grandchildren; Ronald Chancey (Sandy), Michael Geeslin, and Kelly Geeslin McWilliams (Richard). Great grandchildren; Mason and Caleb Chancey.
