Obituary for Mark Waters

Mark Craig Waters, 60, of Byron, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on Friday, March 5, 2021. The family will have a time of visitation to greet friends on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at FairHaven Funeral Home. A graveside service to celebrate his life will be held on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in Byron City Cemetery. Out of respect for the family and per the family’s request, facial coverings are required, and will not be optional and social distancing is strongly appreciated.
Mark was born on December 1, 1960 in Baltimore, Maryland to Dr. Zach J. Waters, Jr. and Mrs. Alice Craig Winters. Mark was self-employed and owned Waters Automotive. He loved his job and worked tirelessly caring for his customers. He always went above and beyond to meet their needs. Mark loved his Byron Community, and was a former City Councilman, and a charter member of the Centerville Rotary, as well as the Secretary for the Macon Regional Crime Stoppers. Mark was an Eagle Scout and received many awards including multiple Paul Harris awards through Rotary, and multiple Top Salesman awards through PassTime. When Mark wasn’t working or serving his community you could find him outdoors with his beloved fur baby Rusty. He loved to hunt, fish, and garden. Mark was married to the love of his life Leigh Waters for 23 years, and together their home was filled with many laughs and good times.
Mark was preceded in death by his Mother; Alice Craig Winters.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Leigh Waters. Father; Dr. Zach Waters, Jr. (Debbie). Siblings; Michael Waters (Prue), Dr. Gregory Waters (Anna), Matt Waters (Sarah Hill) and Ellen Bondi (Carl). Several Nieces and Nephews and a special cousin; Julie Burroughs. Marks sweet spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
