Obituary for Richard Junior Smith
Richard Junior Smith, 76, of Macon, passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2021. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, July 5, in the chapel of FairHaven Funeral Home with Pastor, Ronnie Hollis officiating. Immediately following, Mr. Smith will be laid to rest in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Family will greet friends one hour prior to service time.
Mr. Smith was born on October 31, 1945, in Eastman, Georgia, to the late Mr. Cecil Smith and Ms. Lillie Joiner. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Mr. Smith was retired from Wesleyan College, where he worked for 30 plus years as a painter. He was a jack of all trades that loved to be outdoors. Mr. Smith always kept busy, whether it was tinkering around the house or finding a project to do, he was never bored. He was a loving husband, daddy, and grandpa. Mr. Smith especially loved his grandkids.
Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his sister, Faye Shephard.
Mr. Smith is survived by his wife of 54 years, Alice Faye Wright Smith; daughter, Robin Mobley (Charlie); sons, Johnny Smith and Jason Smith (Kelly); eleven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
