Obituary for Robert Arthur "Butch" DeKalb

Robert Arthur “Butch” DeKalb, 73, of Macon, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, June 16, 2022 surrounded by his family and friends. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 20th at 11:00 am at Southside Baptist Church in Warner Robins, with Reverend Jerry Walls officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 10:00 am. Immediately following the service, Butch will be laid to rest in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens in Macon. Butch was born on April 18, 1949, in Macon, and was raised in Warner Robins. He was a 1967 graduate of Warner Robins High School.

He was predeceased by his father and mother, Donald Inman DeKalb and Barbara Ann “Bobbye” DeLoach DeKalb and his grandparents, Ira and Gladys DeLoach. Butch was a meat cutter for over 50 years, and retired from Kroger in 2014. He proudly attended Southside Baptist Church. His hobbies included golf and spending time with friends and family around his pool. He was also an avid Georgia Bulldog fan.

Butch is survived by his wife, Patricia “Pat” DeKalb; his children, Kim Morrow (Ricky), Kip DeKalb (Cheryl); stepchildren, Michael Pelt (Rachel), Mitchell Pelt (Davia), Tonya Cobb (Jeremy); grandchildren, Chelsea Shepherd (Trenton), Austin Hutchinson, Katelynn DeKalb, Caroline DeKalb, Bradley Cobb, Evan Pelt, Kailyn Pelt, Lynzee Pelt; twin great granddaughters, Dylan and Emma Shepherd; beloved step mother, Yvonne DeKalb; sister, Margie White (Jeff) and their daughter Tracey Wright (Brad) and their twin sons Luke and Landon; twin aunts, Brenda Blount (Eddie) and Linda Pitts (Ricky). Mother-in-law, June Pettis; brothers-in-law, Randy Pettis (Merna) and Jeff Pettis (Wanda), several nieces, nephews and numerous lifelong friends.

The family will be graciously accepting flowers.
