Obituary for Ronald Ross Peacock
Ronald Ross Peacock, 77, passed away peacefully at his residence on Tuesday, May 9, 2023. The family will have a time of visitation to greet friends on Thursday, May 11, 2023 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at FairHaven Funeral Home. Funeral Service to honor his life will be held on Friday, May 12, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of FairHaven. Immediately following the service, Mr. Peacock will be laid to rest in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens with full military honors. Pastor David Idigpio will officiate.
Mr. Peacock was born on March 12, 1946 in Peach County, Georgia to the late William Jack and Margaret Ross Peacock. At the young age of 17 he made the selfless decision to join the United States Navy. After his 4 years in the Navy, he joined the United States Army, serving in the Gulf War and the Vietnam War, before retiring as a chief warrant officer after a lengthy and honorable 23 years of service. In his free time, Mr. Peacock loved to fish and camp. In his younger years, he and his wife Dorothy, had a camper and got great enjoyment out traveling, especially to the mountains. Mr. Peacock was most recently attending Living Stone Baptist Church.
Mr. Peacock was preceded in death by his parents as well as his siblings; Billy Joe Peacock and Eloise Molly Casto.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving family. His wife of 23 years; Dorothy Burkes Peacock. Children; Patti Baggarley (Freddie), Vickie Giles (Wayne), Bubba Burkes (Shirley), Tony Peacock (Amber) and Eric Peacock (Brianna). 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Siblings; Mary Ann Thomas and Jacquelyn Johnson (Johnny).
Christopher Walton, Levi Burkes, Bubba Burkes, Wayne Giles, Gage Mitchell and Wayne Peacock will serve as pallbearers.
