Obituary for Shawn Ashley Davis

Shawn Ashley Davis 36, of Macon, Georgia was born December 7, 1986, and passed away on September 29, 2023. The family invites friends to join them Wednesday, October 4, 2023, from 3:30-4:00pm for a time of visitation at Christ Chapel East. A memorial service to honor his life will be held at 4:00 pm.

Shawn was born in Macon, Ga to the late James Davis and Missy Davis. Shawn was the kind of guy that when he walked into a room, he made his presence known. When he made his entrance, everyone looked because he carried such a beautiful light with him. He was the kind of guy that could give a hug that would grip you tight and always said “I love you.” He was the kind of guy that could make you smile and laugh just with a single look or expression. He was a man that meant more to his family than words can ever properly describe.

Shawn loved a good time and good company. His passions included music, art, and watching the Dawgs play. Red, black, and camo were usually Shawn’s go-to colors complete with a ball cap with his beloved UGA logo. He was always dressing to impress, loved to look sharp and was a friend to all those he met. Shawn never met a stranger because he was absolutely everyone’s favorite guy. Everyone loved Shawn and loved being around him. A time around Shawn meant lots of laughs, love, and smiles. He was his mama’s best friend, his GanMoma’s pride, and his sister’s protector.

Shawn was well-known for his karaoke skills. He could be found countless times bringing a smile to a crowd with a microphone in his hand. Rocking, rolling, dancing, and smiling is how Shawn loved to be. He also had a love for animals, especially his beloved Bella, who he loved spending time walking, playing, and cuddling with.

Shawn’s favorite book of the Bible was Galatians. A verse that describes Shawn from the book of Galatians is Galatians 5:1, “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm.” Shawn was an example of standing firm and finding freedom in Christ. No matter what hardships would come Shawn’s way, he was continuously singing and finding comfort in the Christian songs that would play on the radio. Shawn will be greatly and dearly missed by all.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandfather Steve Gordon.

Left to cherish his memory is his mother Amanda (Missy) Davis of Macon, Ga, his sister Shanna Davis of Macon, Ga, his grandmother Sheila Skinner of Macon, Ga, his pop Val Skinner of Macon, Ga, his son Grayson, brother Tanner Wilson (Amanda) of Cameron, NC, and numerous other loved ones and friends.
