Obituary for Jean Graves

Shelva Jean West Graves, 75, of Macon passed away suddenly on Tuesday, April 11, 2023. The family will have a time of visitation to greet friends on Thursday, April 13, 2023, from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at FairHaven Funeral Home. Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held on Friday, April 14, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with Reverend Lee Griffin officiating.
Jean was born on September 6, 1947, in Macon to the late Robert and Grace West. Jean was a hairdresser for over 25 years but was most known by everyone for her amazing floral work. She was an extremely talented florist, doing arrangements for several funeral homes in Macon. She was a true artist. Jean was a caretaker, she took care of everyone and made sure they never went without, she would give you the shirt off her back, but wasn’t afraid to tell you what she thought. Jean was an extremely active member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church where she was involved with the decorating committee and countless fundraisers. She was an avid Atlanta Braves fan and never missed a game. Above everything, Jean loved her family, everything she did revolved around them, she never missed an opportunity to talk about her kids and grandkids.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents as well as her siblings, Wayne West, Janet Hobby and Eddie West.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving family. Her children; Shannon Lines (Angelo, Abigail) Heather Cummings (Freddie), and Scotty Graves. Grandchildren; Bo Cummings (Molly), Nichole Cummings (Hunter Howard), Gunner Cummings and Wyatt Cummings. Sisters; Joan Nipper, Harriett Reeves (Bobby), Sandra Green and Ronnie West (Gail).
