Obituary for Thomas Hall ""Tommy"" Bates III

Thomas Hall Bates III, or Tommy as he was known to everyone, passed away suddenly at his home on Friday, June 10, 2022. The family will have a time of visitation to greet friends on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at FairHaven Funeral Home. Graveside Services will be held on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens with Pastor Jeramie Collins Officiating.
Tommy was born in Macon, Georgia to the late Thomas Hall Bates, Jr. and Reba Williams. At a young age he joined the United Stated Army where he proudly served our country for two years. After his time in the Army, Tommy took on another role of serving and protecting his Macon Bibb County Community by becoming a Law Enforcement Officer, a career which had a lengthy and faithful 32 year span. In his free time, he loved anything and everything about motorcycles. Weather riding them or collecting Harley Davidson memorabilia. Though he had a passion for motorcycles, and loved being outside, his greatest joy in life was by far his family and spending time with them. Tommy never missed a opportunity to tell a good joke or put a smile on someone’s face.
Tommy was preceded in death by his parents as well as his wife; Denise Bates and daughter; Tonya Bates
Tommy is survived by his loving family; His children; Michelle Bates (Jason Hinkle), Shelby Bates, and Angela Williams (Lee).
