Obituary for William V. McKnight

William V. McKnight, 91, of Macon, Georgia passed away Sunday, April 25, 2021 in Hollywood, Florida. The family will have a time of visitation on Saturday, May 1, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. till 10:45 a.m. at Fairhaven Funeral Home and a graveside service will follow at 11:00 a.m. in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
Born in Gallaway, Tennessee, he was the son of the late John Eston McKnight and Kate Twisdale McKnight. He was the husband of the late Betty Wiseman McKnight.
Bill was a member of Tyrian Lodge #111 and Middle Georgia Daylight Lodge #756. Brother McKnight was a member of our Valley. He received his EA – May 27, 1958, FC – June 24, 1958, and was raised to Master Mason September 18, 1958 in Millwood Lodge. 198. In 2008 he received his 50-year award and in 2019 his 60-year award. Bill was made an Emeritus April 26, 2011 – 10 years ago.
Bill affiliated with Middle Georgia Daylight Lodge NO. 756 December 5, 2011. He served as an officer for several years. He and Betty were very faithful members and enjoyed the masonic activities.
Bill was a member of the Middle Georgia Scottish Rite Bodies, AL SIHAH Shrine, Past CMDR of the Legion of Honor Shrine Unit, Member of the Houston County and Perry Shrine Clubs, served on the Shrine Aide Corp and Insurance committee, and was a Jester since 1995. Bill was also a retired chief in the US. Navy serving in the Korean War, after retirement he went to work with GEICO as a claims examiner. He was a member of the Centerville United Methodist Church and the Houston County Shrine Club.

He is survived by his sons, David McKnight(Michael) and Paul Alan McKnight(Beth) and grandson, Myles McKnight.
