Obituary for Larry Tucker
William Larry Tucker, 81, of Lizella, Georgia unexpectedly passed away Sunday, April 16, 2023 from a tragic 4-wheeler accident on the farm. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Fairhaven Funeral Home. The family will accept friends at 10:00 A.M. for a time of visitation. Larry’s nephew Justin Molton will officiate.
Larry was born on December 24, 1941, to the late Prentis and Mary Tucker. Larry loved sports, and was the high school sports star. He served in the United States Army. He was with Bellsouth as a Telephone Technician for 49.5 years from which he retired. Above all, he was a lifetime beef cattle farmer. A true Patriarch of the Tucker family, he always planned games and events for the family get togethers, was quick with a joke (often off colored) and possessed an incredible memory which he would share by story telling that entertained listeners with awe. He will forever be the memorable subject of future family gatherings.
In addition to his parents, Larry is preceded in death by his sister; Claudette Tucker, daughter; Stephanie Benton, and grandson; Tyler Tucker.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife Glinda, children; Paige (Steve) Fair, Roger (Brenda) Leaptrot, Larry (Kathy) Tucker, sisters; Joyce Green and Candy (Emory) Tucker, great aunt Dorothy, grandchildren; Brandon (Claire) Thompson, Ashley (Chip) Aldridge, Layne Fair, Mary Joyce Fair, and Kyle (Autumn) Tucker, 5 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Larry had a personal relationship with the Lord. He will be remembered for always saying the sweetest prayers at all the family gatherings. We truly know the cows in Heaven welcomed him home.
