Obituary for Wilma Nell Jones
Wilma Nell Jones, 85, of Macon, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 3, 2022 and joined her loving husband in heaven. The family will have a time of visitation to greet friends on Monday, November 7, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. in Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Lee Griffin and Reverend Micah Carr officiating. Immediately following the service, Mrs. Jones will be laid to rest in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Jones was born on September 20, 1937, in Cordele, Georgia to the late Ronald and Audrey Jones. At a young age, she married the love of her life Loren Jones and together they raised a wonderful family. She was a homemaker for the majority of her life, but later worked for the Bibb County Board of Education as a Bus Driver. Mrs. Jones was an active member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church where she once taught children’s church. In her free time, she loved to sing, cook and garden when she was able. She also loved the Holidays and decorating, but above everything, she loved spending time with her family especially her children and grandchildren.
Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her parents as well as her husband; Loren Monroe Jones, and sister; Annette Penn.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving family; Her children; Michael Jones (D’Lyn), Patsy Tillman (Neal), Darrell Jones (Kat), Tony Jones (Summer) and Chris Jones (Nicki). 16 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren as well as her sweet precious doggy friend Penny.
