Ronald Alan "Al"  Davis
Ronald Alan “Al” Davis, 66, of Gray, stepped into heaven on Tuesday, June 6, 2017. Funeral Services to honor his life will be held Saturday June 10, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Pine Forest Baptist Church with Reverend Jimmy Corbitt officiating. Immediately following the service Al will be laid to rest in Salem Church Cemetery in Bolingbroke. The family will have a time of visitation to greet friends Friday, June 9, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at FairHaven Funeral Home, 4989 Mount Pleasant Church Road, Macon.
Born on October 31, 1950, Al was the son of the late Vernon Lanier and Barbara Vaughan Davis. He was a graduate of Lanier High School. Shortly after his graduation, Al joined the United States Navy, where he proudly served our country for 4 years during the Vietnam War. After his time in the Navy, Al was employed by Star Electric for over 35 years. He was an avid fisherman and it was his favorite hobby, as well as his way of bonding with his family. During his earlier years, Al fished for recreation as well as in tournaments. He was known for keeping a fruitful garden, and would supply people with his crops every summer. Al was a sweet, respectful man, but wasn’t afraid to tell you how he felt. His greatest joy in life came from his family, and he was at his happiest when he was with them.
Al was preceded in death by his parents as well as one brother, Vernon Randall Davis.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving family. His two children: Daniel Davis and Petra Knight. Seven grandchildren: Autumn, Austin Knight and Asher Moore, Cheyenne, Hunter, Ashlynn and Rhett Davis. Two siblings: Stephen Davis (Sandy) and Sherry Smith. Nephews: Jeremy Davis, Leo Walden, Travis Davis, Wesley Davis, and Micah Smith. Niece: Nickie Hunnicutt, and Leanne Carreke . As well as numerous other relatives.
