Donald P. Van Hoozier, May 23, 1924- August 16, 2016
Macon, Georgia
“Bro. Don” went to be with his Heavenly Father on 8/16/16. He was born May 23, 1924 in Bulls Gap, TN. He attended Wheaton College and Moody Bible Institute in Chicago. He came to Macon about 1946 as the “adopted son” of the E.M. Clapp family. He worked both Avondale Baptist Church with Bro. Clapp and at Mikado Baptist Church with Bro. E.C. Sheehan before becoming pastor of High Point Church in 1953. He served there until his retirement in 2008 at the age of 84. He is survived by his beloved wife of 29 years, Dr. Charlotte Cox Van Hoozier and many, many spiritual children.

Visitation will be from 6:00pm until 8:00pm on Friday, August 19, 2016 at FairHaven Funeral Home, 4989 Mount Pleasant Church Road, Macon, Georgia 31216.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at High Point Church on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 11:00am with burial to follow in Glen Haven Memorial Park; the Reverend Charlie Walker and Reverend Trey Dickerson will officiate. Bro. Don will be remembered for his father heart to so many and his faithful service to Jesus and High Point Church for well over a half a century. He will be greatly missed on earth but celebrated in Heaven.
