Bettie Rose Addleton

Dear Charlotte, Hu and I have thought of you often this week. And, we pray for God's love, peace, grace, thanksgiving, and joy to fill your heart to over-flowing. I've known Don for a long time, having met him at the Mikado Baptist Church. He was an encourager. I had no musical background whatsoever, but he encouraged me to sing and I improved along the way! When I dedicated my life to God for missions, he along with 3 other friends gave me a Bible. In his own handwriting, he wrote: "To Bettie Rose with the prayer that this book will grow more and more precious and be even your staff of life. God will take care of the consequences of your obedience to Him. In Him, Don." For a while we worked together at Mikado. He encouraged me in writing the script and helping to produce a weekly children's program called KIDS KARAVAN. When I went off to college, he encouraged me to stick with it when sometimes it was tough going. When Hu and I were married, he played the organ for our wedding. His beautiful arrangement of SAVIOUR LIKE A SHEPHERD LEAD US was powerful as the Recessional. Arm in arm we marched down the aisle after saying "I Do." It was his gift to us as we embarked on our missionary journey that took us to Pakistan for 34 years. He faithfully prayed for us. We have been blessed by the impact Don had in our lives. You, Charlotte continue to bless us and we thank God for you and your encouragement. God bless you.
